Still editing. I'm turning to Screenwriting for Dummies for some help, and it suggests to do a scene by scene outline of actions in a certain scene and the reactions/effects those actions have later on in the script. I'm wondering how many of my actions will be unnecessary... Hopefully not too many.

New Action
Action!!!
Iron Man 2
Quantum of Solace
Transformers
Pretty pivotal to all of these films.
But the kind of action I'm talking about (Michael Bay, Iron Man 2) isn't really a part of my script. Does that hurt its chances? I don't think so. Not if its written well enough. Having said that I think I need to put some more action in.

Back to School
No time to work on my screenplay!!! I need to keep going through with my second revisions. I'm also changing the names and backgrounds of one of the characters. This will add some needed depth and empathy to the character.

First Editing Session
So I just finished reading over my first draft, red pen in hand. I didn't change too much, but I sort of expected that. I mean, I did write it. I'm thinking I might have some underdeveloped characters traits and plot points that sort of found their way into the story rather than evolving from events. People love polarity and conflict, metamorphosis too. It's not that the characters stay the same throughout the film, its just that they don't become that different. Maybe they need to. I'll have to wait until my other readers give some feedback. I've learned that it isn't easy being your own critic. I think I'm just too nice to give myself the tough love I need. We'll see though. Maybe its that good already, no changes necessary! I never thought I'd say it, but it was tough keeping this baby under 130 pages. As unepic as possible, I knew that I didn't have a "Gone With The Wind" on my hands. That means a reasonable running time. I bet I can get it down some. Probably should.

Kinko's
Really Kinko's? I don't get a volume discount? $12.74 to print 128 pages seems a little steep.

Finally
First Draft is DONE!!!!
After about 5 months of off and on writing, my first draft is done! Time for a kinko's trip in the morning. This is the first serious step of the many necessary to fulfill my dream of becoming a screenwriter. I never thought I'd even get this far! So this is great.
Satisfied for the night, though I wouldn't have much of a problem staying up and editing. But alas, I need my beauty rest.
Until next time.

Scratch that
Forget the last post. From now on, I'm going to chronicle my adventures of a wannabe wealthy man.
The latest manifestation of my urge for financial security and independence involves writing a screenplay. What's it about? Well for approximately $500,000 I'll tell you. But, until then, nobody knows but me. My first draft is almost done, so I'd say I'm about two years away from getting it into shape for any possibility of sale. But lets not be too optimistic. The writing will be the easy part, its getting it into the hands of the right people that may be difficult.
Has anybody ever paid an agent in manual labor? That's about all I can afford as of now.
Wouldn't it be great if there was a way to get one's work right into the hands of the right people, if it wasn't all about having connections? Well, I say that now, but if I had any connections, my tune may change.
Hopefully one day that'll be the case.
Now it is time to write.
Put my mind to it, finish the rough draft, and really get into it.
Seriously. Imma get serious.
